FOSUG General Meeting July 19, 2008
Independent Projects - This meeting, was a collection of independent projects, allowing for a mix of conversation, and some people actually accomplished something. Others enjoyed the fine art of searching for Star Trek music clips to enhance their computing experience. This meeting, we were glad to see stevo resurface from his hiding place, and he huddled with the Star Trek groupies.

April Topic: Install Fest 2008
It's that time again. Roughly twice a year, we go hog (errr PENGUIN) wild and open the doors to everyone who wants to install Linux on their computers. We will have ISO's and CD's of many of the standard popular distributions. If you want a copy, bring some blank CDs or DVDs or a buck for media. Bring your friends, Bring your second computer, bring anyone who would like to try Linux. Click here for more details.
FOSUG PURCHASED BY MICROSOFT (April 1st)
(4/1/08) The Fosug Charter and name will be immediately changed.
Fresno's Oppressive Software Utility Group.
- Due to the rise in cost of running Fosug, the following changes will be made.
- 1. 66% reduction of staff will be made effective immediately.
- 2. All production staff will be let go, Ronnie will be taking over the entire production team.
- 3. Foss related presentations will no longer be accepted, in their place commercially supported and funded companies will be allowed to speak. This will generate some more income.
- 4. All Fosug related servers will be converted to Windows Server 2003, per agreement with Microsoft.
- 5. Membership will no longer be free. Membership will be as follows
- $5 a month for Basic - Back Row access only. You may watchpresentation but not participate.
- $10 for Professional - You may sit anywhere and participatein presentations, you will be allowed 1 cookie.
- $15 for Ultra - You will enjoy the Professional level membership plus you will be allowed unlimited cookies.
- $20 for Uber. - Ultra membership and you will be allowed to dine with the group after meetings.
- 6. Tux will no longer be our mascot and logo. The Logo will be redesigned to include a Dollar sign and a hawk.
- 7. Free speech, and thought will no longer be accepted, you will speak and think only board certified content.
- 8. Wed night dinners will be changed to Wed night beatings.
- 9. Beatings will continue until moral improves.
